We are proud to be supporting The Food Hub Community Shop, by giving you the opportunity to donate your egg subscription instead of pausing your delivery.

The Food Hub Community Shop officially opened in Berkhamsted on May 14th 2026, providing a much-needed, practical resource for the local community. Created with a clear focus on supporting those who need a helping hand , the shop offers a straightforward, welcoming place where people can reliably access essential food items. Its launch represents a positive step toward ensuring that support is available in a way that is both respectful and easy to use.

At its core, the Food Hub exists to support individuals and families who may be feeling the pressure of rising living costs. By offering affordable food , toiletries and cleaning products , it is aimed at stretching household budgets a little further . The shop is designed to be simple and efficient, removing barriers and making it easier for people to get what they need without unnecessary complication.

The Food Hub operates on a clear points-based model designed to maximise value for those who use it. Each shop allows customers to select up to 20 points worth of items for a total cost of £5, giving flexibility and choice while keeping costs predictable and affordable. This system ensures that everyone can access a balanced selection of food while maintaining dignity and independence, making the support both practical and empowering.

We hope that by creating this space alongside our existing community pantries that we can continue in our mission to make sure nobody in our community goes hungry. 

The shop will be housed in the former Opendoor building in the High Street in Berkhamsted . It will be open twice a week on a Monday 9.30-12.30pm and on a Thursday 4.30-7pm .
