Beef
Our herd of pedigree White Park Cattle graze the open pastures of Ashridge estate and its surrounding areas, filling their fundamental role in the healthy and resilient ecology in Ashridge. White Park cattle are an ancient breed of cattle that have been in existence for over 2,000 years. They were once widely distributed throughout the British Isles and were even used as sacrificial animals in Celtic religious ceremonies. Today, they are a rare breed with a small population, but are valued for their hardiness, adaptability, and ability to graze in areas of cultural and ecological significance. They are also known for their distinctive white coloration, docile temperament, and flavourful beef.
We process our animals between 3-4 years old once they have reached appropriate size. The herd grazes the pastures all year round, giving them a rich and varied diet of grasses, legumes and some forbs (non-grassy plants).
We offer our 100% grass fed beef in the form of different beef boxes, throughout the year.
